Cless can 'master' certain techs by using them a total of 100 times in battle. Techs are largely learned by raising levels, but some are given to Cless during the game. He can use up to four of them in battle (but only two at any given time) by equipping two long-range techs and two short-range techs (he can always access a 'normal' tech and an 'alternate' tech).
